出身地のはなしって定番中の定番ですよね？
東京のように誰もが知っている都市であれば I grew up in the city. や
I grew up in Tokyo. でOKですが、田舎出身場合はどうでしょうか。
例えば日本人以外に I grew up in Yamaguchi. と伝えても、
「どこそれ？」ってなっちゃいますよね。
そんなときはこう伝えましょう！

You seem to know a lot about farming. Where did you learn all that? （なんか農業のことよく知ってんなあ、どこで習ったん？） I grew up in the countryside, so I learned a lot about farming from my family and neighbors. （田舎育ちやから家族とか近所の人からいろいろ習ってんな）
I want to move to the countryside, but it's definitely inconvenient, isn't it? （田舎に移住したいけど絶対不便やんなー？） I grew up in the countryside, so I actually think Tokyo is too convenient. （わたしは田舎育ちやからむしろ東京が便利すぎると思うけどな）

出身地の話の流れでどこで生まれたかって話によくなりますよね。生まれは田舎だけどすぐに都会に引っ越しましたとかってよく耳にするフレーズですしついでに I was born in ~ を使えるようになっておきましょう！
